This nifty optical element shortens the effective focal length of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes by 37%, converting the standard f/10 optical system to a "faster" f/6.3 system (f/7 for the Celestron 14" SCT). The result is a wider field of view, to better frame deep-sky objects that may not fit within the narrower field of view at f/10. The shorter focal length also reduces exposure times for astrophotography and CCD imaging by 2.5 times! This device also corrects for field curvature and other aberrations inherent in the telescope's optical system. Stars appear pinpoint sharp from one edge of the field to the other. The F/6.3 Reducer/Corrector features a four-element, fully multi-coated optical design with a 41mm clear aperture.
